Ignis Privacy Policy

Ignis: Daily Examen is designed to be private and quiet. The app does not require an account, does not use analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Information Stored On Your Device

Ignis stores your journal entries, Examen history, virtue ratings, Rule of Life commitments, morning routine progress, novena progress, pathway progress, selected theme, selected reminders, and other app preferences locally on your device.

The Colloquy screen does not record audio or collect written text. It instructs you to speak aloud or write by hand in your own notebook outside the app.

Information Sent To Us

Ignis does not send your journal entries, prayer progress, virtue ratings, settings, or personal reflections to us. We do not operate user accounts or an Ignis user database.

Daily Readings

If daily readings are enabled in the app, Ignis may request reading references from cpbjr.github.io. Bible text may be requested through the Ignis website's secure Bible endpoint, which retrieves English Standard Version passages from api.esv.org without placing the ESV API key inside the app. If that endpoint is not configured, the app may fall back to bible-api.com for World English Bible text. These requests may expose standard network information such as your IP address, device request headers, and the requested reading reference to those services.

Notifications

Ignis can schedule optional local reminder notifications if you enable them. Notification preferences are stored on your device and handled through Apple's notification system. This includes optional morning prayer, daily Examen, Rule of Life, and pathway session reminders.

Third-Party Services

Ignis does not include analytics providers, social login providers, or tracking SDKs. The only remote services currently used by the app are for daily reading content, as described above.

Children's Privacy

Ignis is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require account creation or ask users to submit personal information to us.

Changes To This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated if Ignis changes how it handles data. The effective date above will be updated when the policy changes.
